We all are working hard and this often results in early starts, late finishes and lunch at our desk. This dedication to our work is great for business but terrible for our health! When faced with a busy week in the office it is often our health that gets cut first. It is our responsibility to ensure we have a good work/life balance and this must include time to consider our health – including finding time for regular exercise and eating healthy meals.
Finding time to is the biggest challenge! Simply put, we must find time! We understand, that you’re currently reading this thinking, but HOW? Committing an hour to exercise three times a week can be hard, even unrealistic but you don’t have to exercise for a minimum of an hour to see results. Instead of finding time in the week to do a class, or spend an hour in the gym, work a 20 minute session in to your routine on a daily basis. Get up 20 minutes earlier and do a series of yoga moves to start the day of well. Open the blinds and let in natural light or head into the garden. These small periods of activity will have you feeling focused and re-energised, ready to face the day.
Walk to the next bus stop instead of getting the one close by, and when the weekend comes again, lose 30 minutes of your lie in and pound the pavements. A run will start off the weekend in the best possible way. Yes it may be extremely difficult to rise, but after your exercise you’ll certainly shine.Small changes to your daily routine can show great results. Don’t make excuses, make time for working out. You’ll see the benefits to your life, and kick yourself for not having done it sooner.
